Man Duped by Fake Jennifer Aniston in Deepfake Love Scam
According to foreign news reports, a 43-year-old man named Paul Davis from Southampton, U.K., was tricked by someone pretending to be famous actress Jennifer Aniston.
The scammer asked Paul for money, saying it was for “Apple subscriptions,” and even told him, “I love you.” Paul believed it was Aniston.
The scam also used deepfake technology. Paul received what looked like a picture of Jennifer Aniston’s driving license and videos where she appeared to blow him flying kisses and hold a sign saying “I love you.”

Paul admitted he was fooled and sent money to the scammer. He said, “I got fake videos of Jennifer Aniston saying she loved me and asking for £200. I believed it – and I paid. I was tricked.”
He also said the scammers sent him fake videos of Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg and tech billionaire Elon Musk, along with messages saying he had won money.
“This has been going on for about five months,” Paul said. “I thought the scammers would be caught, but they’re still out there having fun and getting away with it.”
He added that he’s not the only one who was fooled—someone he knows even spent more than £1,000 on Apple gift cards for the scammers.
