FIA Seeks Search Warrants in Mustafa Amir Case
The FIA had to visit the house linked to the case today.
The officials said that they would meet the police officials inquiring into the case to get aware of the information related to the case. “The FIA will also get details of the evidence collected from the house,” officials said.
The FIA will plead to the court for search warrants of the house, officials said.
Earlier it was said that the anti-money laundering circle and cybercrime circle of the investigation agency will jointly inquire into the case.
The FIA authorities said that all accounts and properties of Armaghan, the prime accused in the case ceased for 90 days. “The persons involved in dealings through Armaghan’s accounts would also be added to the investigation,” officials said.
A letter was written to the CIA seeking evidence about the involvement of the accused in money laundering, officials said.
Moreover, forensic tests will be conducted on the evidence of Armaghan’s involvement in cybercrimes.
The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Interior had directed the Federal Investigation Agency and the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) to investigate the Mustafa Amir murder case last Friday.
The NA body’s meeting decided that the FIA Cyber Crime Wing should begin its investigation immediately into the murder case.
A high-level meeting at the Chief Minister House chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah discussed the progress of the Mustafa Amir murder case on Thursday.
Senior officers from the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC), and Special Investigation Unit (SIU) briefed the chief minister on the progress of the case.
DIG Javed Alam Odho formed a special investigation committee to address the syndicate involved in the Mustafa Amir murder case.
The six-member committee, headed by DIG CIA Muqaddas Haider, includes SSP CTD Irfan Bahadur, SSP AVCC Anil Haider, and SSP Investigation East Alina Rajpar, among others.
