'Mea Culpa' by Kelly Rowland is a disastrous failure

Mea Culpa, Kelly Rowland’s most recent acting endeavor, was met with a deluge of unfavorable reviews soon after its premiere.

The criminal defense lawyer played by Rowland takes on the case of an artist who is accused of killing his lover, played by Trevante Rhodes, in this courtroom thriller drama that debuted on Netflix earlier this week.

As the narrative progresses, tensions increase and passions flare.

Perry is the writer, director, and producer of Mea Culpa, which features a remarkable cast that includes RonReaco Lee, Nick Sagar, Shannon Thornton, Kerry O’Malley, and Sean Sagar.

The film only scored 17% on Rotten Tomatoes, despite having a fascinating and exciting premise with many of plot twists.

Less than one-fifth of critics who saw it gave it a positive assessment, according to the website.

Fans also expressed their dissatisfaction with the movie by posting comments on X, a platform that was once known as Twitter.

“Mea Culpa (2024)… from start to finish, this is quite simply the worst Tyler Perry film to date,” bemoaned an enraged social media user.

“I would even venture to say that it’s among the worst movies I’ve ever had to endure.” Not a single tear or chuckle, not a single scrap of emotion. For 120 minutes, nothing,” he continued.
