Khan 26th Amendment Threatens Constitution
On a media question, of whether the lawyers will accept the 26th Amendment, Hamid Khan replied, “We consider the 26th Amendment the biggest attack on the constitution that has unsettled the judicial system.”
It is to be mentioned here that the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) election has been underway today.
He said lawyers must launch a campaign against the 26th Amendment and make every effort to remove it to give independence to the judiciary.
The polling for the elections of SCBA is underway to elect the central office bearers as well as vice presidents and executive members from provinces.
Over 4,000 voters will cast their votes in the SCBA elections. The largest number of voters are from Lahore: 1,414, 516, Karachi, and 372, Peshawar.
