Harry and Charles Meet Privately

Prince Harry and King Charles Hold First Private Meeting Since 2024

Prince Harry and King Charles have met privately for the first time since February, marking a notable step in their long-strained relationship. The father and son, estranged since Harry stepped back as a working royal in 2020, reunited yesterday at Clarence House, where Harry spent just under an hour with the King.

Harry had traveled to London earlier this week to attend the WellChild Awards and extended his stay, sparking speculation about a potential family meeting. Earlier in the day, the Royal Standard was raised at Buckingham Palace, signaling the monarch’s presence in the capital.

While details of the discussion remain private, the reunion comes amid increasing public scrutiny of the Royal Family and is viewed as a cautious move toward easing tensions. Sources say Harry and Charles had been gradually building toward the meeting, including quiet exchanges between their offices. Earlier this summer, aides for Harry were seen meeting with the King’s communications team, and he reportedly offered to coordinate schedules to prevent clashes with other royal engagements.

The visit also included a stop at Imperial College London’s Centre for Injury Studies, where Harry highlighted support efforts for children affected by conflict and natural disasters. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that their foundation would donate nearly £370,000 to assist injured children in Gaza and Ukraine.

Despite this milestone, tensions remain within the family. Prince Harry’s relationship with his brother, Prince William, continues to be cold. William, occupied with royal duties in Cardiff, did not meet Harry, and a reunion between the brothers during this visit is considered unlikely.
