If that’s what the public desires: Dwayne Johnson on a US presidential run

Dwayne Johnson on a US presidential run

According to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, he received approaches from several political parties last year after a 2021 survey indicated 46% of Americans would back his presidential campaign. In late 2022, the parties contacted the actor and former WWE wrestler, who made his debut as the first guest on Trevor Noah’s new Spotify podcast, What Now?

Johnson said, “I was really moved by that,” in response to the poll’s findings. I felt truly honored and astounded.” He continued by saying that the parties had gotten in touch with him to ask if he would be interested in becoming president.

The Baywatch star remarked, “It was a big deal, and it came out of the blue.” “They brought up that poll and their own in-depth research that would prove that should I ever go down that road [I’d be a real contender],” the person said after the other.

Regarding his conflicted feelings about politics, Johnson said, “It was all very surreal because that’s never been my goal.” Being in politics has never been my ambition. To be honest, I detest a lot of things about politics.

Johnson revealed on Noah’s show that he frequently had to spend time apart from his oldest daughter, Simone, due to his employment as a professional wrestler. With regard to his younger children, he said, “I don’t want that for my little ones now.”

Johnson clarified that this issue was a major point of contention with the pertinent parties, who appeared to contrast his circumstances with other people’s handling of comparable difficulties. “Of course I would consider it if that is ultimately what the people would want,” he continued.

The famous persona had earlier shared on Instagram in response to the 2021 poll: “I don’t think our Founding Fathers EVER envisioned a six-four, bald, tattooed, half-Black, half-Samoan, tequila-drinking, pick-up-truck-driving, fanny pack-wearing guy joining their club – but if it ever happens, it’d be my honor to serve you, the people.
