Huawei Unveils CloudMatrix 384 to Rival Nvidias AI System

Huawei Shows Powerful AI System at WAIC

Huawei introduced its new AI system, CloudMatrix 384, at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) in Shanghai. This three-day event brings together the latest technology and top companies in AI.

The CloudMatrix 384 system attracted a lot of attention. Many people visited Huawei’s booth to see the new technology.

This system was first announced in April and is seen as a strong rival to Nvidia’s GB200 NVL72, one of the most advanced AI systems made by a U.S. company.

Tech expert Dylan Patel from SemiAnalysis said Huawei’s system could even beat Nvidia’s in some areas. According to his research, CloudMatrix 384 uses 384 of Huawei’s 910C chips, while Nvidia’s system has 72 B200 chips.

Although Huawei’s chips may be weaker on their own, the company uses a smart system design called “supernode” architecture. This connects the chips at very high speeds, making the overall system faster and more powerful.

Even with U.S. export bans, Huawei has become China’s top company for making important AI chips. Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang also said Huawei is growing quickly and mentioned the CloudMatrix as a good example.

Huawei confirmed in June that the CloudMatrix 384 system is already running on its cloud platform, showing that the company is ready to compete globally.
