Humaira Asghar Used Fake CNIC Police Confirm After Death
Humaira Asghar Used Two CNICs with Different Birthdates, Police Investigation Reveals
KARACHI – New revelations have emerged in the ongoing investigation into the death of actress Humaira Asghar, as police confirm she was using two different Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) under her name.
According to police sources, Humaira Asghar had manipulated her original identity card to change her date of birth. Her authentic CNIC listed her birthdate as October 10, 1983, while the tampered version stated it as October 10, 1997. Investigators believe the altered ID was used for professional purposes in the entertainment industry.
They have obtained copies of both the original and altered CNICs, which have become critical pieces of evidence in the investigation.
Discovery of the Body
Humaira Asghar’s body was discovered on July 8, 2025, inside her locked apartment on the fourth floor of a building in Karachi’s Ittehad Commercial Area. The discovery was made after Gizri Police, accompanied by a court bailiff, entered the apartment to enforce an eviction order issued due to non-payment of rent since April 2024.
Neighbors had earlier reported a foul smell, but due to the vacancy of the adjacent apartment until February 2025, the situation went unnoticed for months. Police said both the main and balcony doors were locked from the inside, suggesting she was alone at the time of her death.
Career and Personal Life
Born in Lahore, Humaira Asghar Ali was a multi-talented artist and television personality. Official records show varying birth years, but she was most widely known as being born in 1992. She studied Fine Arts, TV, and Film at the National College of Arts (NCA) and later earned an M.Phil from Punjab University.
Humaira began her career as a fashion model in 2013 and later transitioned into acting, appearing in various television dramas and films, including Jalaibee (2015). She gained further popularity through her appearance on the reality show Tamasha Ghar in 2022.
Aside from acting, Humaira was a painter, sculptor, and fitness influencer with over 715,000 followers on Instagram. Her last social media post was on September 30, 2024, and although it showed no signs of distress, her declining online activity in recent months hinted at personal withdrawal.
Ongoing Investigation
Police continue to probe the circumstances of her death, including the motive behind the use of dual identity cards and any possible connections to her sudden passing. Further forensic and legal analyses are underway.
