Imran Khan’s three-day visit to Saudi Arabia
Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has left for a three-day tour to Saudi Arabia. The visit is an effort to reset the ties between the two countries.
On the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, Imran Khan left for Riyadh on Friday. During his three-day visit, Imran Khan will cover all aspects of the relationship between Riyadh and Islamabad. According to Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Bilal Akbar, three memoranda of understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed.
During meetings with the Saudi Leadership, Imran Khan will cover all areas of bilateral cooperation. Which include trade, investment, environment, Islamophobia, job opportunities for the people of Pakistan. Also, the most important discussion about the previously employed Pakistani’s well-being in Saudi Arabia.

Michael Kugelman, a senior associate for South Asia at the Wilson Center think-tank said that “The purpose of Imran Khan’s visit, for both countries, is simple. To say that the partnership is back on the old track.”
Pakistani army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa also visited Riyadh, on Wednesday, he discussed defense assistance and agreements with the Saudi military chief of staff, Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili. Bilal Akbar and Saudi military officials received the Pakistani army chief in preparation for Imran Khan’s visit. The visit is of high significance.
The foreign office of Pakistan said in a statement “The Prime Minister will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including the Foreign Minister and other members”. The Prime Minister will also meet the Secretary-General of the OIC, Dr. Yousef, the Secretary-General of the World Muslim League, Mohammad bin Abdulkarim, and the Imams of the Two Holy Mosques. The foreign office further added.“Saudi Arabia is home to more than two million Pakistanis, contributing to the progress and prosperity of both countries.”
