In 2023, no Pakistani was named to the ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year

Stop criticizing the non-striker

The Indian skipper, Suryakumar Yadav, has been named the T20I Team of the Year 2023 by the ICC. Based on exceptional 2023 performances, this award recognizes brilliance in batting, bowling, or all-around efforts.

Indian cricketers make up the majority of the XI despite the absence of Pakistani players. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, and skipper Suryakumar Yadav all earned seats in the squad.

Alongside Phil Salt of England, Jaiswal, who made his debut in 2022, was selected as the opener. Jaiswal’s selection was influenced by his outstanding 430 runs at a strike rate of 159 in 14 innings. Salt outperformed other top scorers in a T20I series, hitting 331 runs.

Nicholas Pooran, a West Indies wicketkeeper, took third place, with captain Suryakumar Yadav in charge. Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe and Mark Chapman of New Zealand were ranked No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.

At positions seven and eight in the lower order were Mark Adair of Ireland and Alpesh Ramjani of Uganda. With 55 wickets at an economy of 4.77, Ramjani led the T20I wickets list, while Adair claimed 26 wickets at an economy of 7.42.

Zimbabwe’s Richard Ngarava, India’s Arshdeep Singh, and India’s Ravi Bishnoi completed the bowling attack. In 21 outings, Arshdeep grabbed 26 wickets; in 15 matches, Ngarava took 26 wickets at a cost of just 5.63 runs per over; and Bishnoi took 18 wickets, moving up to the top of the ICC T20 Bowling Rankings. The exceptional performances that characterized T20I cricket in 2023 are reflected in this lineup.
