Netflix Sets November Release for Animated Film In Your Dreams
LOS ANGELES – Netflix has announced that its upcoming animated film In Your Dreams will premiere on November 14, directed by former Pixar animator Alex Woo.
The film centers on two siblings, Stevie (voiced by Jolie Hoang-Rappaport) and Elliot (Elias Janssen), who are troubled by growing tension between their parents, voiced by Cristin Milioti and Simu Liu. As Stevie worries about the possibility of a split, the children stumble upon a mysterious book that tells the story of the Sandman — a mythical figure who can make a person’s deepest wish come true.
With the book’s power, Stevie and Elliot enter the dream world in search of the Sandman, hoping he can help save their parents’ marriage. Along the way, they encounter a colorful cast of characters, including Elliot’s toy giraffe, Baloney Tony, voiced by Craig Robinson. The voice cast also features Omid Djalili, Gia Carides, SungWon Cho, and Zachary Noah Piser.
The release comes at a busy time for Simu Liu, best known for his role in Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Earlier this year, Liu revealed that he is engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Allison Hsu, a marketing executive. The Canadian actor, 36, proposed in Paris with the Eiffel Tower as the backdrop. Hsu, 28, shared the news on Instagram, posting photos of the moment along with her engagement ring and the caption, “Us forever.”
With its heartfelt story and star-studded voice cast, In Your Dreams promises to be one of Netflix’s most anticipated animated releases of the year.
