Judge of Official Secrets Act Special Court ordered Khan to appear before the court on Nov 28 in cipher case

PTI chairman Imran Khan would resign due to legal issues

On Sunday, in connection with £190 million in National Crime Agency (NCA) UK and Al-Qadir University Trust proceedings, former prime minister Imran Khan was questioned by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Rawalpindi, at Adiala jail.

There are reports that the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was questioned for more than nine hours by four separate teams. According to the sources, the teams interrogated him on a variety of documents and topics.

The first team, which included a member of the Combined Investigation Team of NAB and an assistant director of NAB Rawalpindi, went to Adiala jail and questioned Imran Khan for almost two and a half hours. A two-person team then questioned the former premier over matters involving £190 million and the Al-Qadir University Trust.

On November 28 and 30, the PTI chairman is scheduled to appear in separate cases in Islamabad’s courts.

Imran Khan has been ordered by Judge Abual Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain of the Official Secrets Act Special Court to appear before the court on November 28 in a cipher matter.

Additionally, a hearing for his appeal against his conviction in the criminal case of Toshakhana is set for November 30. He will file an appeal with the Islamabad High Court (IHC), which is presided over by Chief Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri.

Though his jail trial was ruled unlawful by the IHC, it seems unlikely that the former PM would be brought before Islamabad courts on April 28 and 30 for an open trial.

The 71-year-old politician who was formerly a cricket player has been imprisoned since August 5 as a result of his three-year conviction in the Toshakhana case. The IHC had ordered his release on August 29 and deferred his sentence. But a trial court ordered the police to detain Khan once again, in the cipher case, and start his trial in jail.

Internet advertisements On Tuesday [tomorrow], PTI Chairman Imran Khan will be transported to the Judicial Complex for the cipher case hearing. A conference with the administration, police, and other relevant departments is scheduled for Monday to finalize the security strategy for him.

According to sources, the police Special Branch and other pertinent departments have begun gathering classified data that will aid in the security arrangements for the former premier.

Three roads, according to police sources, may have carried Imran Khan to the Judicial Complex: Peshawar Road, the Islamabad Expressway, and Murree Road.

Peshawar Road will be the favored route to transport Imran Khan from the jail to the Judicial Complex, according to sources. Other than significant installations in and around the area, the Red Zone is probably going to be largely sealed on Tuesday.

The police and paramilitary forces would reportedly surround the Judicial Complex, according to sources.

It was expected that roads and other key locations leading to the Judicial Complex would be blocked off. Additionally, troops can be stationed close to significant locations in the city, such as the Red Zone, the Srinagar Highway, and the Faizabad Zero Point
