Kamran Bangash Acquitted in Peshawar Police Raid Case
PESHAWAR – Kamran Bangash has been acquitted of all charges in a case stemming from a police raid at his guest house last year.
According to the prosecution, on December 20, 2023, Chamkani police raided Bangash’s property attempting to arrest PTI leader Murad Saeed, who was reportedly absconding. The authorities claimed that Bangash and his associates opened fire during the raid, injuring two officers.
Bangash’s legal team, however, presented video evidence to the court showing that he had cooperated with the police and was unarmed at the time. His lawyer argued that Bangash neither fired at the officers nor sheltered Murad Saeed, denying all allegations against him.
After reviewing the evidence, the court cleared Bangash of all charges. Speaking to reporters outside the courtroom, he described the verdict as long-awaited justice.
“Finally, the court has acquitted me in a case that was based on lies,” Bangash said. “When the police arrived at my house, I went outside with them voluntarily.”
