Karachi Airport Monsoon Alert

Karachi Airport Monsoon Alert

The management of Jinnah International Airport in Karachi has told all departments to stay alert during the monsoon season.

They warned that rain can increase the number of birds near the airport because rain helps insects grow, and birds come to eat them.

To avoid danger, airport staff have been told to place bird control teams near the runway. They must also move small aircraft to safer areas if needed.

The airport authority said it’s also important to remove anything blocking water flow outside the airport boundary so rainwater can drain properly.

Weather Forecast for Karachi

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said Karachi will remain hot and humid for the next two days. The sky will be partly cloudy, and high humidity will make the weather feel even hotter.

Because sea winds are not reaching the city properly, the hot conditions will continue. But starting Friday (June 27), there might be dust storms and thunderstorms with rain.

Rain Report from Lahore

The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said the Lahore airport area got 37mm of rain in 24 hours. Other parts of Lahore only received about 4mm of rain.
