Karachi Bus Crash Kills 3

Bus Hits Motorcycles in Karachi, Killing Three and Injuring One

Karachi – A tragic road accident in the Drigh Road underpass claimed three lives and left another person injured on Sunday.

According to police, a bus collided with two motorcycles, resulting in the deaths of a 45-year-old man, Haris, a 30-year-old man, Shoaib, and a 60-year-old woman. Another 30-year-old woman sustained injuries in the crash.

Authorities said all victims were riding motorcycles at the time of the accident. The bus driver initially fled the scene, but traffic police later chased and arrested him.

The injured woman and the bodies of the deceased were taken to Jinnah Hospital by Edhi Ambulance.

This incident comes amid alarming traffic statistics in Karachi. Rescue sources reported that at least 546 people have died in traffic accidents across the city during the first seven months of 2025. In the same period, 8,136 people were injured in road accidents.

Heavy vehicles were involved in 165 of these fatal accidents. Among them, trailers caused the highest number of deaths at 62, followed by water tankers with 37, dumpers with 32, and buses with 20 fatalities. Overall, the victims included 425 men, 51 women, 51 boys, and 19 girls.

Authorities have called for stricter enforcement of traffic rules and improved road safety measures to prevent further tragedies on Karachi’s roads.
