Karachi Murder Case: Father Arrested After Daughter’s Testimony Contradicts His Claims

Karachi – Police have arrested Qamar Abidi in connection with the murder of his wife, following inconsistencies in his statements and critical testimony from his six-year-old daughter.

Abidi initially claimed he had been away from home for two days and denied any involvement in his wife’s death. However, his daughter contradicted him, stating that her father had been at home during the incident.

Based on the child’s testimony, investigators recovered blood-stained clothing belonging to the suspect. Authorities have also ordered a medical examination of the young girl to determine if any sedatives or narcotics were administered during the crime.

Police revealed that Abidi is addicted to crystal meth, commonly known as “ice,” but he continues to deny involvement in the murder. During questioning, he stated that he usually locks the house when leaving for work at 7 AM, but on the day of the incident, he did not. Investigators are considering this detail as part of the ongoing probe.

This case highlights a worrying trend of domestic violence in Karachi.
