Groom Missing on Wedding Day Found Safe, Says Police
Karachi – A groom who went missing from Korangi’s Madina Colony on his wedding day has been found safe, police confirmed on Monday.
The groom, identified as Jehanzeb, was initially feared abducted after he disappeared hours before the ceremony. However, investigators later determined that he had voluntarily left home, leaving his mobile phone behind.
According to police, Jehanzeb told family members he was heading to a salon but instead wandered off. During questioning, he admitted that he had been under severe mental stress due to the arranged marriage planned by his family. “After leaving home, I spent days roaming the streets,” he told investigators.
Earlier, an abduction case had been registered at Zaman Town Police Station on the complaint of his father, Waseem. Police officials said Jehanzeb is still being questioned, and the case will be formally closed once the inquiry is complete.
The incident comes just two days after a separate kidnapping attempt in Defence Phase 8, where armed men briefly abducted a police head constable before releasing him near the Super Highway.
In April this year, the Sindh High Court (SHC) was also informed about the recovery of two missing persons, Zulfiqar and Abdul Haq, during hearings on petitions related to enforced disappearances.
