Light Rain and Humid Air Expected Today
KARACHI – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) says Karachi will have cloudy and humid weather today (August 5). The city may get light rain or drizzle in some areas.
The temperature in Karachi is expected to stay between 32°C and 34°C, with southwest winds blowing at 24 km/h. The humidity level is high at 74%.
Heavy Rains Expected in Other Parts of Pakistan
The PMD also warns of another round of monsoon rains across the country. Monsoon winds are entering the upper and central parts of Pakistan. A strong weather system is expected to hit from August 5 (today).
From August 5 to 7, heavy rain may cause flash floods in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Buner, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, northeast Punjab, and Kashmir.
Urban flooding may also happen in low-lying areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, and Sialkot.
There is also a risk of landslides and road closures in hilly areas like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Murree, Galliyat, and Kashmir during this period.
