Karachi to Launch Traffic Awareness Campaign Ahead of E-Challan System

KARACHI – The Karachi Traffic Police is starting a new awareness campaign to educate citizens about road safety and traffic rules. This move comes before the launch of the e-challan system, which will soon be active across the city.

Karachi’s DIG Traffic held a meeting with outdoor advertising companies to plan the campaign. As a result, over 100 locations in Karachi will now display banners, signboards, and other media showing traffic safety messages.

The campaign will also include videos and pictures on social media to help people understand traffic laws better. The goal is to reduce road rule violations and make Karachi’s roads safer before the e-challan system starts.

What Is the E-Challan System?
The new faceless e-challan system will catch traffic violators using cameras, photos, and videos. Once a violation is recorded, a fine (challan) will be sent to the person’s home through the postal service. Citizens can also check their challans using the Traffic Police mobile app.

Karachi Traffic Police has asked everyone to follow traffic rules carefully to avoid fines and trouble.

Ajrak Number Plates Deadline Extended
In other news, the Sindh Excise and Taxation Department has extended the deadline for replacing old number plates with the new Ajrak-designed plates.

The new deadline is now October 31, instead of August 14. This was announced after a meeting between PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla. The extension is meant to help more people get the new, secure number plates on time.
