Kirsten Dunst on Name Mispronunciations
Kirsten Dunst Says She’s Given Up Correcting People Who Mispronounce Her Name
Hollywood star Kirsten Dunst, 43, has finally stopped worrying about people mispronouncing her name—even after decades in the spotlight. In a recent video for a lifestyle magazine, Dunst admitted she now answers to just about any version of it.
“I mean, everyone messes up my name, so I give up,” Dunst said in a TikTok clip. She added that it doesn’t bother her whether people say it as “criss-ten,” “ker-stin,” or “keer-sten.”
She explained, “I don’t blame people. Like in England, they don’t say my name right. The last set I was on, everyone was saying it wrong—there were Swedish people, people from Hungary. You just give up.”
Dunst, who confirmed the correct pronunciation is “Keer-sten,” shrugged off the issue, saying, “But again, who cares? It’s fine.”
On the professional front, Dunst is set to appear in Derek Cianfrance’s upcoming biopic of Jeffrey Manchester, Roofman, alongside Channing Tatum. The film is slated to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month and will hit theaters on October 10.
