Have you ever eaten fruit and felt burns to a third degree?
Strangely enough, a British visitor to Campeche, a port city on the Gulf of Mexico, is said to have burned himself third degree after consuming an exotic fruit.
During his visit to Mexico, Thomas Harold Watson noticed a vendor selling cashew apples from a stall while he was strolling through a market, according to Southwest News Service.
that is normally claimed that an apple a day keeps a doctor away, but this time, that was not the case.
The 28-year-old told the outlet: “I could not believe the pain just from biting into one case.”
The construction worker posted a photo of himself on social media, illustrating the fruit’s effects on him.
“You can eat the cashew apple fruit; it’s supposed to be slightly bitter,” he stated. Having heard about it but never tried it myself, I bought it, went on a stroll, and began consuming a variety of fruits.”
“I thought I’d open it up — it felt like a passion fruit, and I bit into this sac which exploded straight away,” he recalled the incident. It was like fire right away, and I could feel it crossing my mouth.
The following morning when the British awoke. The burns on his face resembled those from an acid attack.
