Prior to becoming Bridgerton’s “leading lady,” Nicola Coughlan contemplates her life
Nicola Coughlan feels unaffected in her personal life while being proud of the change in her profession.
The Irish actress expressed her disbelief at the way her career has turned out in an honest interview with Harper’s Bazaar.
Resuming her role as Penelope Featherington, Coughlan expressed her amazement at becoming the protagonist in a romantic program. She will be starring in the most recent season of Netflix’s Bridgerton.
“This time, Pen is very much center stage, whereas in the first two seasons, she was a supporting character, the oddball in the corner,” the spokesperson said.
“The only problem with this is that I truly excel at being the “oddball in the corner.” There, I feel at ease! Unusual girl that nobody seems to notice? Where can I register?
“Not because I find myself hideous, as some people have assumed when I say that (I’ll have you know, in the right lighting I’m a solid seven), but because it’s not something I ever dreamed of,” she said, expressing her amazement.
Playing the main role hasn’t made her feel “intimidated,” she added, but “when it rains terrifying, brilliant opportunities, it truly pours.”
Thinking back to 2017, Coughlan realized how much her life had changed since then, when she was working part-time at an optometrist.
“I was deluding myself completely.” I’m ready to go on a worldwide publicity tour for one of Netflix’s biggest-ever series in 2024. I find it difficult to understand.
