NADRA Upgrades Pak ID App with New Features for Citizens

ISLAMABAD – The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has rolled out an upgraded version of its Pak ID mobile application, aiming to make identity-related services more accessible, efficient, and user-friendly for Pakistani citizens.

The latest update, version 3.8.1, introduces several new tools, including:

Facial biometric verification – replacing the old fingerprint system with advanced facial recognition technology.

No biometric requirement for family details – allowing users to view information about family members without extra verification.

Online appointment booking – enabling users to schedule visits to NADRA centres directly through the app.

Application tracking – making it easier to check the status of ongoing requests.

Improved interface – offering a smoother, faster, and more intuitive navigation experience.

With these upgrades, citizens can now apply for ID cards, request corrections, and access digital versions of their identity documents right from their smartphones, reducing the need to visit NADRA offices in person.

NADRA says the changes reflect its ongoing commitment to digital transformation and public convenience. Users are encouraged to download the latest version or update their existing app to enjoy the new features.

Public Data Protection Advisory

Earlier, NADRA issued a warning urging citizens not to share personal information with unauthorised websites or mobile apps. The advisory follows a rise in scams where fraudsters pose as NADRA representatives, tricking people into providing ID details in exchange for false incentives.

Authorities warn that such data is often misused for illegal activities and stress the importance of protecting personal information online.
