Due to an accident, presenter Laura Woods will miss tonight’s fight between Fury and Usyk
Due to an unfortunate mishap, Laura Woods, one of the most well-liked sports broadcasters in Britain, will not be at ringside for tonight’s boxing battle between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.
The title fight between the undisputed heavyweight champion and Saudi Arabia will be shown by three major UK stations.
Laura Woods was supposed to be the principal presenter of TNT Sports Box Office, one of these broadcasters.
She withdrew, nevertheless, because of an incident that happened while on vacation.
Woods wounded her arm and face after inadvertently shattering a glass lampshade over her head.
Her boyfriend, former Love Island star Adam Collard, drove her to an emergency clinic and stayed by her side to get medical assistance.
“Just wanted to explain my absence from the telly for a little while, to be totally transparent and avoid any speculation,” the broadcaster wrote on Instagram.
“Last weekend, I got into an accident at a vacation home. The post states, “I swung a pillow and hit a big, glass lampshade hanging from the ceiling above me. It broke and injured my face and arms, but fortunately missed my eye. “I’m sad to say that I will no longer be able to cover the fight in Riyadh tomorrow, but I still wish the outstanding TNT boxing team all the best.” Come return soon, xx.”
According to Sun Sport, Tyson Fury will take on Oleksandr Usyk in the first undisputed heavyweight title match in almost 25 years.
The victor of this fight will hold the title of heavyweight champion without a challenge in the four-belt period.
At the moment, Fury is the WBC champion, and Usyk is the WBA, IBF, and WBO champion.
Owing to the importance of this fight, many broadcasters were anticipated to compete for the opportunity to cover it.
