In the £190 million case, Imran is granted bail

Imran Khan, the founder of the PTI, was granted bail by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday in the £190 million lawsuit.

The PTI founder was ordered by the court to post a Rs. 1 million surety bond in order to be granted release. The ex-premier’s sentences in the Iddat and Cypher cases have not yet been suspended, thus the order will not release him from Adiala jail.

A day prior, after the conclusion of the arguments made by both sides, a two-member bench made up of IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri reserved their verdict regarding Imran’s bail request.

The case centers on claims of power abuse and corruption related to a financial settlement made during the PTI’s rule, which is said to have cost the national exchequer £190 million.
