Karachi Airport experiences a lot of cancelled flights
Wednesday saw a rush of aircraft cancellations at the Karachi Airport as the aviation industry continues to struggle with declining passenger numbers.
More than a dozen flights from different airlines that were supposed to leave from Karachi Airport were canceled, according to industry sources.
The practice of Ramadan has compounded the current trend of lower passenger volumes.
Two foreign itineraries were among the impacted flights. Air Blue’s PA 200 to Islamabad, Serene Air to Peshawar, AirSial’s PF-121 to Lahore, and Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) PK-330 to Multan were all scheduled to be canceled.
In a same vein, PIA’s PK-368 flight, scheduled to depart for Islamabad at 4 PM, was also canceled.
Compounding the misery for travelers, sources said that Air Blue’s EK-607 flight to Dubai, which was due to depart from Karachi at 6 pm, was also canceled.
