On Cancer Survivor Day 2020, Nadia Jamil discusses her post-chemo and post-coma experiences

Renowned for her honesty and fortitude, Pakistani actress Nadia Jamil once again won hearts with a heartfelt throwback note from 2020 that was written during a particularly trying time in her fight against breast cancer.

Jamil recently shared a note on Instagram that details her recovery from cancer, chemotherapy, and a coma. It is a testament to her unwavering spirit and incredible metamorphosis.

Jamil wrote in the sincere letter dated July 10, 2020, “Hello! I read about your amazing, magical love every day, and it makes me smile. This is my face grinning at you all. The smile hasn’t changed despite many changes. a little unsteady. However, we will retrieve her.

Jamil wrote, “So much has changed,” reflecting on how much her viewpoint had changed. How I feel and look, how I view myself and the people around me, and how I feel about silence and solitude.”

“A slice of lemon or a peppermint leaf never just looked like the miracle it is, but now, on another level, it tastes unbelievable,” the actor wrote in her note, expressing her amazement at life’s little pleasures. Her remarks serve as a potent reminder of the beauty that is sometimes lost in the daily grind.

She also gave a detailed account of the different worlds she saw at the time from her hospital room. “Outside, there are no trees. Not a bird. Just the frantic activity of overworked nurses, chatting, laughing, and getting upset. Things are happening in the world outside this room. There is a world where children are abused and subjected to excruciating pain. a world in which hunger and conflict go unnoticed. She said, “There is a world being contaminated that has beautiful blue skies, lush green grass, and breathtaking nature.”

“I can hear the Nathiagali and Kaghan mountain streams, turn into waterfalls,” the Damsa actor recalled. On the polo grounds, I smell horses. Ma’s table is covered in nargis flowers, which fill the space with a potent, fragrant summer air. Or the Motia, who fills me with wonder and love. I picture the Bougainville running up the trees in my father’s house, where my father is lolling downstairs while my brother is lolling upstairs, both of them daydreaming and grinning.

She then thought about her mother’s courage, who despite suffering a great deal of personal loss, never wavered in her love or determination to support her. Jamil wrote, “My beautiful mother who has carried the burden of a hundred oxen, since her son and parents died,” emphasizing the significant influence of her family’s encouragement on her recuperation process.

Jamil concluded her note by acknowledging that, even though she wasn’t quite ready to fully reintegrate into society in 2020, she was on a path toward self-discovery and healing. “Until then, I keep healing by traveling inward and far into the inner ether. I had no idea we were so infinite within,” she wrote.

When Jamil disclosed in 2022 that her illness had been fully treated, she thanked everyone for their prayers. The actor wrote on Instagram, “Officially cancer-free.” The post was quite lengthy. “Every test for cancer is negative. Alhamdolillah Shukar. I appreciate all of your prayers, love, and support. Because bhangra is all in the shoulders, even though the harsh chemotherapy caused some nerve damage in my feet, I will live to dance.”

“I’m eternally grateful to all of my friends and family,” she continued. You are aware of who you are. Adnan Siddiqui, Muniba Mazari, Sultana Siddiqui, and Sania Saeed, some of my friends in the business, were always by my side. I’m grateful.
