Raoof Hasan: PTI prepared to speak with the establishment
Raoof Hasan, a spokesman for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), confirmed the party’s openness to communication with the establishment. He emphasized that the goal of reaching out to political parties is to unite all political forces around a single platform rather than to forge an electoral coalition.
Speaking on Friday’s “Center Stage” episode of Express News, Hasan emphasized that Imran Khan, the founder of the PTI, has long argued in favor of cooperating with other parties. He emphasized that talks and collaboration are beneficial as long as political parties practice positive politics.
“The purpose of contacting political parties is not at all electoral alliance; our aim is that all political parties come together on one platform,” Hasan said in the course of the interview.
In response to the contentious remarks made by JUI-F president Maulana Fazlur Rehman about a no-trust vote against Imran Khan’s government, Hasan made it clear that Maulana is not targeting PTI and said, “It is not known whether we can go with Maulana Sahib or not.”
“We are prepared to speak with the organization. PTI has long advocated for interaction with the establishment, and Hasan emphasized the party’s dedication to positive communication by saying, “There is no harm in talking.”
Hasan declared the party’s decision to sit in parliament and emphasized that PTI would not give up its right to protest, even though the party was eager to have talks. He restated that the public welfare has always been the primary priority of PTI, with the goal of addressing concerns expressed regarding the election and advancing democratic values.
Hasan went on, “We don’t know whether the parties we invited will join us or not,” expressing concern about the unpredictability of other political groups’ reactions.
