Seven militants are killed by security troops in North Waziristan as they attempt to cross the Pakistan-Afghan border
The military propaganda wing announced on Wednesday that security forces had killed seven terrorists in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa North Waziristan area who were attempting to cross into Afghanistan.
The security forces on Tuesday, April 16, near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the Spinkai region of Ghulam Khan in the tribal district, spotted the movement of a gang of seven terrorists, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
It went on, “All seven territories were sent to hell after the infiltrators were surrounded and effectively engaged.”
The statement also stated that a significant amount of explosives, ammo, and firearms were found on the terrorists who were slain.
The statement made clear that Pakistan has been requesting efficient border control on their side of the border from the Taliban-led interim Afghan government on a regular basis.
The military pleaded with the interim government to uphold its duties and prevent terrorists from using Afghan territory to carry out more terrorist attacks against Pakistan.
The ISPR statement said, “Pakistan’s security forces are determined and remain committed to securing its borders and eliminating the menace of terrorism from the country.”
Pakistan has often called on the Afghan government to take decisive action against terrorists who use the territory of their neighbor to conduct strikes within Pakistan.
The Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group and Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants were the main targets of Pakistan’s intelligence-based counterterrorism campaign inside Afghanistan last month.
An initial claim of responsibility for the terrorist act was made by the Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group.
Numerous terrorist strikes inside Pakistan carried out by this group have claimed the lives of hundreds of people, including law enforcement officers. Seven Pakistani troops lost their life in the most recent attack, which occurred on March 16, 2024, at a security station in Mir Ali, North Waziristan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on March 18, more than 13 hours after the operation.
The Pakistan Army senior commanders received a briefing the previous day about the ways in which terrorist organizations operating out of Afghanistan not only work as proxies against Pakistan and its economic interests, particularly the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), but also represent a danger to regional and international security.
