Who Runs the World, by Lois Quam? Pakistani book launch
Leading organization for sexual and reproductive health and rights worldwide, Pathfinder International, is pleased to announce the triumphant premiere of its most recent book, “Who Runs the World?,” at the esteemed Indus Valley School. This ground-breaking book, written by Lois Quam, the CEO of Pathfinder International since 2017, offers deep introspection and a forward-thinking perspective on enabling women all throughout the world to be the driving forces behind advancement in the twenty-first century.
“Who Runs the World?” highlights the vital role that women play in bringing about revolutionary change by elevating the voices and stories of women from the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa. These women are fighting injustice, transforming brittle health systems, and leading resilient solutions to the growing problems of climate change thanks to their ability and creativity.
The inaugural function included lively debates, priceless connections, and insightful talks among distinguished guests. Attendees got the opportunity to speak with the author face-to-face and learned firsthand about cutting-edge studies and creative tactics that are supported by women throughout the world.
“I hope readers will understand that the solutions to the problems we face are found in the support that women and girls in our community need.” If we help women and girls to do so, we can use the brilliance and energy of women to tackle all of the world’s challenges, said Lois Quam, CEO of Pathfinder International.
The session featured enlightening comments from Dr. Tabinda Sarosh, President of South Asia, Middle East, and Africa, and Madiha Latif, Country Director for Pakistan. “We’re on a transformative path at Pathfinder, bringing leadership closer to the communities we serve and making sure our interventions are successful and locally driven,” said Madiha Latif.
Alycia Dias, a singer-songwriter, also had a riveting performance at the occasion. She sang a powerful rendition of the track “Main Irada,” which celebrates the tenacity and fortitude of women. Famous presenter Sidra Iqbal adeptly oversaw the events, preserving a lively mood all through.
