Online, a changed Dua Lipa statement about Israel’s murder against Palestine circulates

With a kind gesture, Dua Lipa affirms Callum Turner's romance

Pop singer Dua Lipa has joined the cries for an end to Israel’s ongoing atrocities in Palestine, but an altered version of her speech regarding the war is making the rounds on the internet. The false social media posts remove the singer’s statements expressing support for the victims in Gaza and Israel.

“Dua Lipa is in support of Palestine!”My heart breaks for the people of Palestine with every day that goes by. A post on December 12, 2023 on X states, “I am filled with grief as I observe the extraordinary suffering in Gaza, where 2.2 million souls—half of them children—face unfathomable hardships.”

It was shared by Jackson Hinkle

Jackson Hinkle, a conservative influencer who frequently disseminates false information regarding the Israel-Hamas conflict, shared it. Hinkle shared the assertion on Facebook as well. Claim propagated as Israel declared that it will be fighting Hamas for “many more months.”

When gunmen from Hamas stormed southern Israel, the fighting broke out. As a result of Israel’s unrelenting shelling and siege of Gaza, at least 21,110 people have died, nearly two thirds of them were women and children, according to the most recent death toll released by Gaza’s health ministry.

Lipa has faced criticism for her repeated statements endorsing Palestinian human rights. Along with other well-known people, Lipa signed a letter to US President Joe Biden in October 2023 pleading with him to demand an end to hostilities. However, a member of Lipa’s press team claimed that the quote that was widely circulated by Hinkle misrepresented an Instagram story, and they gave AFP an image of the singer’s post.

“With each passing day, my heart aches for the people of Israel and Palestine,” she wrote in her statement, urging people to give to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund. Feeling of loss for those killed in the horrific strikes in Israel. Grief as I witness the unprecedented suffering in Gaza, where 2.2 million souls, half of them children, endure unimaginable hardships.”

Dua Lipa has joined calls for a ceasefire

The Instagram story is no longer accessible on Lipa’s official account, but the screenshot is consistent with what was written in October news stories, and fan accounts recorded exact copies of the post
