PAF Cadets Take Guard at Mazar-e-Quaid on Defence Day
PAF Cadets Assume Guard Duties at Mazar-e-Quaid on Defence Day
Karachi — Pakistan Air Force (PAF) cadets from the Asghar Khan Academy took over guard duties at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on Friday as part of the 60th Defence and Martyrs’ Day commemorations.
The ceremony at Mazar-e-Quaid was attended by Air Vice Marshal Shahryar Khan, Air Officer Commanding of the PAF Academy, and Asghar Khan, who served as the chief guest. He laid a wreath at the mausoleum and penned his remarks in the visitor’s book.
In his address, Air Vice Marshal Shahryar Khan paid tribute to the martyrs of the 1965 war, lauding their courage in defending the nation. He reaffirmed the armed forces’ resolve to safeguard Pakistan’s sovereignty, stressing that no sacrifice is too great in the defense of the country.
“Pakistan is a peace-loving and progressive nation,” he said, “but our desire for peace should not be mistaken for weakness.”
He vowed that the armed forces are fully prepared to counter any threat, warning that Pakistan’s enemies would face a stronger response in the future. Referring to Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, he recalled how the PAF had decisively responded to Indian aggression earlier this year, downing six Indian jets, including Rafale fighters.
“The humiliation faced by the enemy serves as a reminder that when the armed forces and the nation stand united, no power in the world can defeat us,” he added.
Highlighting the modernization of the air force, Air Vice Marshal Shahryar Khan noted that the PAF has become a next-generation force with advancements in aviation, weapon systems, space, artificial intelligence, and information technology. “This progress has placed the PAF among the world’s leading air forces,” he said.
