Pakistan China Reaffirm Strategic Partnership

Pakistan, China Reaffirm All-Weather Partnership in High-Level Meetings

ISLAMABAD — Pakistan and China have once again reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their all-weather strategic partnership, vowing to deepen cooperation across key sectors and work together for regional stability and prosperity.

During a series of meetings in Islamabad, discussions centered on regional security, counter-terrorism, and matters of mutual interest. Both sides emphasized the importance of enhanced coordination at regional and international forums.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reiterated Beijing’s firm support for Pakistan’s sovereignty and development, while Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir expressed gratitude for China’s consistent backing. The meetings concluded with a shared pledge to advance peace, stability, and economic growth in the region.

Later in the evening, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with the Chinese foreign minister and highlighted the significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) for Pakistan’s socio-economic development. He expressed satisfaction over the steady progress of CPEC Phase-II, which aims to boost trade, industrialization, ICT, agriculture, and mining sectors.

PM Shehbaz also lauded the Chinese leadership and people for their unwavering support in safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and national development. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong support for China on its core issues and stressed the commitment to further deepening the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, describing it as a vision shared by the leadership and cherished by the peoples of both nations.
