Army to assist in preventing financial losses

General Asim Munir, the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), stated on Tuesday that the army will work with the LEAs and other government agencies to enforce laws against illegal activities in order to prevent resource theft and the economic losses the nation has endured as a result of these activities. Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, the caretaker prime minister, was presiding over the meeting of the Provincial Apex Committee when he made this statement.

The Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement that the forum was briefed on the revised National Action Plan, law enforcement operations, anti-smuggling and anti-narcotics operations in Balochistan, security of foreign nationals working on CPEC, non-CPEC, and private projects, repatriation of unauthorised foreigners, steps to regularise foreign currency, and advancement on SIFC initiatives in Balochistan.

The Balochistan government has made progress, and the prime minister expressed confidence in it and promised it the full backing of the federal government.

“Balochistan’s socio-economic development is essential for ensuring peace and development in the province,” Kakar emphasised.

According to the prime minister, each province’s residents should benefit from the steps the SIFC has done at the federal level.

Balochistan, according to him, is rich in mining and minerals, and growth in this industry will create jobs and boost the local economy.

In addition, he underlined that investments in IT and agriculture should be prioritised in addition to human resource development.

The prime minister emphasised the necessity of collaboration amongst all pertinent departments for efforts to be successful.

The participants acknowledged that the people, government agencies, and state institutions were working together for the advancement and prosperity of the province.
