Pakistan Collapse as Hope Leads West Indies to Series Win
Pakistan Crumble to Heavy Defeat as Hope’s Heroics Power West Indies
KARACHI — Pakistan suffered a crushing batting collapse in the series decider against the West Indies, falling to a 202-run defeat after skipper Mohammad Rizwan’s decision to bowl first backfired.
Opting to field, Pakistan quickly found themselves under pressure as West Indies piled up 294 for six. Captain Shai Hope led the charge with a magnificent unbeaten 120 off 94 balls, while Justin Greaves added late fireworks, hammering 43 not out from just 24 deliveries. Evin Lewis (37) and Roston Chase (36) also made handy contributions. For Pakistan, Abrar Ahmed and Naseem Shah claimed two wickets apiece, with Mohammad Nawaz and Saim Ayub taking one each.
In reply, Pakistan’s batting imploded. The top order was ripped apart early, with Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, and Rizwan all falling for ducks. Star batter Babar Azam could only muster nine runs, while Salman Ali Agha (30) and Mohammad Nawaz (23) offered brief resistance before the hosts were skittled out for just 92 in 29.1 overs.
The defeat sealed the series for the West Indies, who outplayed Pakistan in all departments on the day.
