Pakistan Condemns Israeli Attack on Qatar, Calls for UN Security Council Meeting

Islamabad – Pakistan has strongly condemned the recent Israeli attack on Qatar, calling it an unprovoked violation of the Gulf nation’s sovereignty. The government, alongside Algeria and Somalia, has requested an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council to address the situation, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced on his official X handle.

“Pakistan expresses its full solidarity and unwavering support with the government and people of Qatar,” Dar said.

The Foreign Office described Israel’s actions as “highly provocative and reckless,” emphasizing that the attack violated international law, the UN Charter, and established norms of interstate relations. The strike, reportedly targeting Hamas leadership, also endangered civilian lives in Doha.

“This reckless action reflects Israel’s continued disregard for international peace and security and its policy of destabilizing the region,” the Foreign Office said. “Pakistan has consistently maintained that such impunity must not be tolerated by the international community.”

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif also condemned the bombing, which struck a residential area in Doha. In a statement on his X account, he said: “On behalf of the people and government of Pakistan, and on my own behalf, I strongly condemn the unlawful bombing in Doha by Israeli forces, which endangered the lives of innocent civilians.”

Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to defending Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and urged the international community to hold Israel accountable for its actions.
