Customers electricity prices will be reduced in May
Customers’ power costs for the month of May would be reduced by Rs4.12 per unit as compared to March.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Power Division on Tuesday, a petition has been filed with the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) to reduce the fuel cost adjustment for May from Rs4.92 per unit to Rs2.94 per unit as compared to April.
According to the announcement, the electricity rate for April was also lowered from Rs7.6 per unit to Rs4.92 per unit in comparison to March.
It further stated that the government’s efforts have allowed for the third consecutive month that a request for a decrease in power costs has been made to NEPRA.
Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, the minister of power, stated that the public will profit from lower gasoline costs.
