Pakistan Rejects Zelenskys Claim About Fighters in Ukraine
ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has denied claims made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that Pakistani fighters are involved in the war in Ukraine.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Foreign Office said Ukraine has not given any proof to support the claim. It also said Pakistan has not received any official message from the Ukrainian government about this matter.
The spokesperson for the Foreign Office said Pakistan will ask Ukraine for a proper explanation.
Pakistan also repeated its position that it wants peace in Ukraine. It supports the United Nations Charter and believes that problems between countries should be solved through talks and diplomacy.
These comments came after President Zelensky said that foreign fighters from China, Pakistan, and some African countries were fighting in northeast Ukraine. He called them “mercenaries” and promised to take action.
