40,000 Applicants Win in Pakistan’s First E-Balloting for Electric Bikes, Rickshaws

Islamabad – Pakistan has completed its first-ever secure digital balloting for electric two- and three-wheelers, a move hailed as a milestone in the country’s shift toward clean mobility.

The online balloting, conducted through the PAVE portal with support from the Engineering Development Board (EDB), was overseen by a special committee to ensure transparency and fairness.

According to official figures, the Ministry of Industries and Production received over 269,000 applications. Out of these, 40,000 applicants were declared successful in securing electric two-wheelers, while another 1,000 were allotted electric three-wheelers.

How to Check Results
Applicants can verify their status on the PAVE portal using their CNIC or Application ID. Successful candidates will be notified digitally, after which the subsidy process, payment arrangements, and vehicle delivery will begin. Manufacturers will handle delivery, warranty, and after-sales services.

Subsidy Details
The government is offering a subsidy of Rs50,000 for bank-leased two-wheelers and Rs80,000 for self-financed purchases. For three-wheelers, subsidies stand at Rs200,000 (leasing) and Rs400,000 (self-finance).

A Step Towards Green Jobs
Federal Secretary for Industries and Production, Saif Anjum, who inaugurated the e-balloting, described the initiative as a “landmark step” toward sustainable transport in Pakistan.

Officials say the Pakistan Electric Vehicle (PAVE) Scheme, aligned with the National Electric Vehicle Policy 2025–30, is expected to generate over 100,000 green jobs, strengthen local manufacturing, and give a much-needed boost to the country’s industrial sector.
