Punjab will soon see the introduction of an air ambulance service: CM Maryam
Maryam Nawaz, the chief minister of Punjab, announced on Friday that the province will soon begin offering air ambulance services.
While presiding over a meeting on the Air Ambulance Project in Lahore, the chief minister made the choice. In an effort to improve medical response in the province’s more distant areas, Maryam also approved the usage of the aircraft that was linked to her office for the purpose of emergency patient relocation.
Attendees at the meeting included the chief secretary, chairman of P&D, secretary finance, Dr. Adnan, secretary emergency department, advisor Pervaiz Rashid, minister of specialized healthcare and medical education Khawaja Salman Rafiq, minister of primary and secondary health Khawaja Imran Nazir, and other officials.
The chief minister emphasized throughout his speech at the conference how important it is to get patients to hospitals on time, particularly when they live in distant locations with limited accessibility. She brought up the sad story of a cardiac patient’s predicament at Sargodha Hospital to highlight how urgently effective emergency medical services are needed.
Maryam also declared her intention to start using Rescue 1122 on freeways.
In her first speech as the province’s chief administrator, Maryam announced her bold plan for the next five years of growth for Punjab and promised a “new era” for the region.
During her one and a half hour victory speech, Maryam promised to focus on the fields of health and education as well as job and housing provision for the province’s citizens.
