Rain Forecast for Upper Parts of Pakistan Till September 19
ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted widespread rainfall in the country’s upper regions as moist currents from the Arabian Sea, coupled with a westerly wave, are expected to persist until September 19.
According to the Met Office, rain and thunderstorms are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum from Tuesday through Friday. Central Punjab, including Lahore, is also expected to receive showers on September 18 and 19.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain has been forecast for Dir, Chitral, Swat, and surrounding districts from September 16 to 19. Scattered showers are also likely in Kashmir during this period, while Gilgit-Baltistan may experience isolated rainfall.
The Relief Commissioner of Punjab has instructed divisional and district administrations to remain on alert, warning that heavy downpours could trigger flooding in local streams and drains during the ongoing monsoon spell.
