Pakistan Weather Alert Heavy Rain Snow & Hail Expected Mar 25–27
Met Office predicted that a strong westerly wave is likely to approach western or upper parts of the country on 24th March (tonight) and affect upper and central parts from Tuesday to Thursday (25th to 27th March).
Widespread rainfall (snow over mountains) with some heavy falls expected in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir under the influence of this weather system from 25th to 28th March.
Rainfall with snow over high mountains is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from the 25th to the 27th of March with occasional gaps. Isolated hailstorm is also expected during the period.
Rainfall with few hailstorms is expected in Islamabad and districts of Punjab from 25th to 27th March, while in southern Punjab districts on 25th and 26th March.
Rainfall is expected in Balochistan’s Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, Musakhel, Chaman, Mastung, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah, Qilla Saifullah, Loralai, Barkhan, Sibbi, Khuzdar, Chagai and Nushki on 25th and 26th March.
While wind/dust storm is expected at isolated places in upper parts of Sindh on 25th and 26th March.
Moderate to heavy falls may cause landslides or slippery conditions on the roads in Murree, Galliyat, Naran, Kaghan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Shangla, Astore, Hunza, Skardu, Neelum valley, Bagh, Poonch and Haveli during the forecast period.
Heavy rainfall may generate flash floods in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, and Mansehra on 26th & 27th March.
