PIA Staff Barred from Hangar as Airline Announces Canada Flight Discount

KARACHI – Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) engineers and staff have been restricted from accessing the Ispahani Hangar premises, sources confirmed on Monday.

The hangar’s parking area was sealed following a joint operation by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) and PIA’s security teams. The Society of Aircraft Engineers’ office, located within the same parking zone, is also affected.

According to officials, the PAA had issued a notice last week instructing the Society of Aircraft Engineers to vacate the office.

In a separate development, PIA announced a 15% discount on flights to Canada to assist travelers. Passengers can book discounted tickets until October 10, with travel valid between September 30 and December 19.

The airline had temporarily suspended its Canada-bound flights from September 13 to 27, 2025, citing maintenance requirements for its Boeing 777 long-range aircraft. PIA confirmed the suspension in an official announcement.
