PM Shehbaz Highlights Strong Ties, Economic Plans, and Security Priorities

London: Speaking to UK-based Pakistani journalists in London, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the deep-rooted trust and cooperation between Pakistan and its allies, highlighting a recently formalized accord that strengthens institutional ties.

“The agreement ensures that any attack on one country will be treated as an attack on the other, with both sides responding through mutual consultation,” PM Sharif explained.

Reflecting on Pakistan’s military history, he recalled Marka-e-Haq, saying that the nation had taught India a lesson, “it will be remembered for life.”

On diplomacy, the Prime Minister described his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington, D.C. as “highly productive,” with Trump assuring stronger bilateral economic cooperation.

He also highlighted Pakistan’s economic efforts, stating that despite recent flood devastation, the country has achieved macroeconomic stability and is pursuing policies to boost growth. “Our focus remains on poverty reduction, job creation, attracting investment, and maximizing the potential of agriculture, IT, and mineral sectors,” he said.

PM Sharif underlined that the political and military leadership are “on the same page,” noting his regular consultations with Field Marshal Asim Munir on key national and foreign policy issues.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to combating terrorism, he paid tribute to the sacrifices of security forces, calling them “eternal in the nation’s memory.” He also reiterated Pakistan’s ongoing support for Kashmiris and Palestinians at the United Nations.
