PM Shehbaz Hails PSX Gains Investor Confidence

PM Shehbaz Sharif Applauds Economic Gains, Highlights Investor Confidence

Islamabad – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday expressed satisfaction over the country’s economic performance, praising his team for steering Pakistan’s economy toward a positive trajectory.

Speaking on the sidelines of recent developments, the prime minister said the historic gains at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) reflected growing confidence among businesses and investors in government policies. “The country is moving towards economic growth after attaining economic stability,” he added.

The KSE-100 Index surged by 2,630.15 points during intraday trade, marking a 1.65% rise compared to the previous session. By 3:53 pm, the index stood at 161,908.78 points, up from 159,280.09 points at the close of the prior trading day.

In a separate development, PM Sharif, accompanied by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, met US President Donald Trump at the White House on Friday. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the discussions focused on bilateral cooperation, regional issues, and global developments. The prime minister described President Trump as a “champion of peace” and lauded his decisive leadership.

Meanwhile, Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have initiated the second review of the ongoing loan program. Sources said that discussions are centered on revenue shortfalls, pending tax litigation, and key fiscal reforms.
