PM Shehbaz Vows Easy Loans for Small Farmers
PM Shehbaz Wants to Help Small Farmers Get Easy Loans
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that small farmers in Pakistan should be treated with respect and given full support, especially when they need loans for farming. He spoke about this during a high-level meeting in Islamabad, according to a press release from the Prime Minister’s Office.
PM Shehbaz said small farmers find it very hard to get low-interest loans. He said the government’s top priority is to help these farmers get easy and cheap loans.
The Prime Minister asked officials to speed up reforms in Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL), which gives loans to farmers. He also told private banks to give more loans to farmers on simple and affordable terms.
To make sure the plan works, PM Shehbaz said he will personally lead review meetings every three weeks to check the progress.
He said the government is serious about improving farming in the country. He promised full support for small farmers through better systems, easy access to money, and helpful changes in banks.
Officials gave PM Shehbaz an update on the changes happening at ZTBL and new ideas to improve farm loans.
The meeting also looked at how private banks can give more loans to farmers.
Many top government leaders were at the meeting, including Federal Ministers Rana Tanveer Hussain and Ahsan Iqbal, PM’s Advisors Muhammad Ali and Haroon Akhtar, Ministers of State Bilal Azhar Kayani and Abdul Rehman Kanju, State Bank Governor Jameel Ahmad, MNA Iftikhar Nazir, and PM’s Coordinator Musharraf Zaidi.
