Gohar Ali Khan describes the letter as a “turning point” in Pakistan’s legal history
As stated in the letter six Islamabad High Court justices wrote to the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), leading attorneys and the bar organizations of Sindh, Lahore, Islamabad, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have demanded a probe into the claimed meddling in the legal system by the nation’s espionage agencies.
During an urgent meeting today, the Sindh High Court Bar Association went over the letter that the IHC judges had written.
The Supreme Court justices will be on the three-member judicial panel that the SHCBA has recommended be formed in order to look into the letter.
The Supreme Court Bar Association expressed worry over the “interference” and declared, “Interference in the affairs of the judiciary is tantamount to attacking the judicial system.”
The lawyer’s group also praised the IHC judges, calling their revelation of the intervention an admirable deed.
Islamabad Bar denounces meddling
Concern was also voiced by the Islamabad High Court Bar Association, which said that it completely supports the judiciary’s independence and autonomy as the primary component of the Constitution.
According to the bar, “public confidence in the justice system is linked to the independence and autonomy of the judiciary,” and it is detrimental to both society and the justice system when the judiciary is under suspicion.
The organization declared in a statement that it supports autonomy, judicial independence, and the rule of law.
The bar required guarantees that the judges would be able to carry out their responsibilities while upholding the independence and autonomy of the judiciary as stipulated in the constitution.
The bar “strongly” denounced any institution interfering with another institution’s internal issues.
It further stated that the Islamabad High Court Bar Association demands that Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa launch an investigation and take legal action against those at fault, upholding the supremacy of the Constitution, the rule of law, and an independent and autonomous judiciary in the nation.
The bar declared that it will not think twice about starting a campaign to protect the independence of the courts.

The Lahore Bar Association wants the offenders held accountable.
As mentioned in the IHC judges’ letter, the Lahore Bar Association also denounced influence and meddling in the judiciary’s decision-making.
It said, “Action should be taken against those who violate the constitution and law,” and it urged the chief justice to give judges in higher courts and lower courts complete protection.
“We hope that the chief justice of Pakistan will make it possible for the judges appointed in the high and subordinate courts to provide justice according to the law without fear or danger,” the statement stated.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council has expressed its qualms and worries over the letter and offered to assist in defending the nation’s Constitution and legal system.
Its statement said, “Interference in judicial matters is condemnable.”
“This letter is crucial,” says Hamid Khan
Hamid Khan, the head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), commented on the situation and said that although judgements are tampered with, the six judges performed an excellent job.
“It is imperative that this letter be routinely followed up on,” he stated at a media conference at the Lahore High Court Bar.
The attorney asked that a judicial commission be formed by the CJP on the issue.
“The contents of the letter should be inquired into and those responsible should be punished,” he stated.
“A watershed moment in Pakistan’s legal history”
Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), called the letter a “turning point” in Pakistan’s legal history.
He said that six high court justices were impacted by the judges who wrote the letter, which claimed that the intervention was done in political matters including the Tyrian White case.
Gohar declared, “We condemn the interference in judiciary,” adding that pressure was used to influence the verdicts taken against Imran Khan, the founder of the PTI.
Gohar demanded safety for the judges who have requested the probe, as well as for their families, stating that the judiciary will lose the public’s faith if nothing is done about this letter.
He said that the provincial parliament will also consider a resolution about the letter.
