Power Talks & WB’s $194M Aid

The Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister held a meeting to discuss problems in the power sector.

The ministers for power and petroleum, advisor Tariq Bajwa, and senior officials from the finance and power ministries were also present.

They talked about how to make the power system more stable with better financial planning and how to protect electricity users.

World Bank Support for Pakistan

In a separate development, the World Bank has approved $194 million to help Pakistan with education and water supply in Balochistan.

According to the World Bank:

$100 million will go to the Access to Quality Education Project, which will help about 250,000 children get better education.

The project will also give training to 5,000 teachers and award 400 scholarships to female students who want to become teachers.

The other $94 million will be used for a water project that will improve the water supply for homes and farming, especially in Quetta.
