Prime Minister: The Problems of Farmers to be Solved
Prime Minister Imran Khan said about the government’s commitment to solving the problems of farmers; affordable solar energy will be provided to the people including farmers; the fruits of government initiatives will soon reach the farmers.
Talking to farmers at Ghazi Barotha here on Friday; He said that they would crack down on counterfeit pesticides.
Prime Minister said that hard-working farmers and middlemen reap the benefits, adding that we are taking steps to reduce the role of middlemen and benefit the people.
He said that commodities sold at a much higher price than the rate at which they got from the farmers.
“We are planning to increase agricultural production and support the farming community. The provision of easy installment loans to farmers is being looked into,” he said.
He said; that government is taking steps to shift the tube wells to solar which would provide cheap electricity to the farmers.
He said that the government is aware of its responsibilities and is taking steps in this regard; adding that the farmers would get relief due to the steps taken by the government.
The farmers briefed the Prime Minister in detail about their problems.
Farmers demanded the provision of solar energy and crackdown on counterfeit pesticides.
Farmers also mentioned financial exploitation by middlemen in the sale of agricultural commodities.
The Prime Minister assured the farmers that their problems would be resolved.
