Nida Yasir, Nadia Khan, and Shaista Lodhi discuss controversies and receive threatening calls
Hailed as the main trio of morning show royalty, Nadia Khan, Shaista Lodhi, and Nida Yasir got together for an open discussion on Shan e Suhoor in a rare confluence. The legendary trio, well-known for their roles in the morning show period, discussed the highs and lows of their professional lives and the difficulties they encountered behind the scenes.
Over laughs and recollections, Nadia Khan’s account of a terrifying experience from her past brought the session to a bittersweet close. When she thought back on her time spent doing live call-ins, she shared a terrifying experience that still bothers her.
A distraught caller, who could be experiencing depression, made an unexpected demand to see Nadia in person and threatened to harm her kid if she didn’t comply. Nadia was shaking at the seriousness of the issue, highlighting how erratic live television can be.
She remembered, “It was a very strange call.” “Depressed women would make a lot of calls. (The caller) threatened to harm my child if you wouldn’t see her. I’m really depressed and I want to talk to you and meet you.” The other two gasped in surprise at this. Even though Nadia did choose to go see the mother in question, she recalls feeling terrified for the youngster with wide eyes.
Talking about celebrity dramas on set also uncovered stories, as Nida and Nadia related captivating incidents. When a caller—possibly the sister of an actor—disclosed the real-life romance between on-screen couples, Nida made an unexpected admission on air. Nadia, meanwhile, recalled a difficult time when a lead actor’s husband came in to accuse him of having an affair with his co-star, putting a cloud over the marketing of the program. Nadia stated, “I would get stuck,” while clutching her head.
Shaista, who was no new to difficulties on the set, related her personal experiences in controlling rowdy celebrity guests. She demonstrated her professionalism and resilience by managing unforeseen events with grace, whether it was navigating late-night partying or making sure she looked decent the next morning. “They’re in such positions in the morning that they can’t come on-screen,” said Shaista. She said, “You have a show to put on but you don’t have a guest.”
The event acted as a reminder of the intricate details that are sometimes overlooked in the glamorous realm of morning television. The hosts’ disclosures illuminated the emotional burden and demands that come with their positions as judges of morning entertainment, looking behind the glitz and humor.
